National Amateur Boxing Championships

With my desire to photograph more sports came the opportunity to shoot some boxing.  Now, although I think the sport is, at times, barbaric, the amateur side of the sport is, personally, more appealing.  Why? Because its more about scoring points with good, clean punches and not about battering the life out of your opponent.  That said, there are plenty of boxers that should never step into a ring because they don't see it as a sport.

The National Amateur Boxing Championships were held in The National Stadium in Dublin over the weekend of February 18th & 19th.  Kenny Egan was the main attraction and he didn't disappoint.
